Getting Ready to Launch a Short Fiction Unit of Study
One of the many books I’m going to use as a touchstone text is Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity by Mo Willems. Why? My kids simply loved it! (Not to mention the fact that the character is well-developed and that there’s a clear problem & solution!)
Some other titles I’m thinking of using are…

I love reading Polacco and so do my students, but I don’t like using her books for a short fiction unit since her books are rather wordy. Would it be helpful for me to make a list of touchstone texts I’m using for this unit and send it to you? LMK… I’m happy to do it (or to post it).

I am going to start our Fiction Unit VERY soon. Next week to be exact. I wasn’t sure what text to use besides Patricia Polacco. Knuffle Bunny would be GREAT! I would love to hear more of what you are doing with your unit.
