Kevin just posted a second call for this week’s Day in a Sentence. I see he’s experiencing the same thing with his weekly challenge that we are with ours… less participation than usual. I guess that’s to be expected since everyone, myself included, is very busy at this time of the year. That’s understandable!

Here’s my sentence, which is about my time at NCTE (I mentored my sentence after Kevin’s sentence, which was about his time spent in San Antonio) with Ruth:

I’ve come to realize that I’m truly blessed to have a friend and a colleague who pushes my thinking and makes me a better teacher of writing.

    I just sent a similar email to a teaching friend today – hard as it gets, when you have someone to puzzle things through with, it doesn’t seem so much like work.
