I’m late getting started, all this snow took out the power yesterday. In the country it takes awhile to get it back on!

I’d heard of the Slice of Life challenge, but now intend to try it for myself. Sounds like fun.
Here’s my first entry:

I’m embracing much today, and with delight. A new month begins. All the little white boxes of the March calendar hang on the wall in front of me. Each one full of spring’s potential.
A new challenge begins with this Slice of Life writing. I’m looking forward to this because it is a challenge and I will be pushed to write. I want to experience what my students must feel when the expectation to write sits in front of them.
A new week begins tomorrow and it is a full five day week. No holidays or interruptions. What learning and growth will we accomplish in our little classroom community?
Let’s begin.
I’m looking forward to this exercise. I tend to look at the forest. It might be nice to see a few trees up close for a change

Wow, how great to see such a long list! Can’t wait to come back and read later. I’ve posted today, but I’m not sure it ‘counts’ as a slice of life. It’s more the anger I woke up with after listening to the news the morning. Maybe I’ll post something more ‘slice-like’ later.

I do not consider myself a writer but I suppose that is the perfect motivation to take on this challenge. I had a ton of fun jumping in today. Here is my Slice.

My Slice is up at http://365in2009.wordpress.com/2009/03/01/march09slice01/. It took a LOT for me to get out there in the snow this morning. Usually, once I know I’m going to be in on a weekend, it is nearly impossible to get me out… but not today!
I’m up for a challenge! Here’s my first (of 31 I hope!) post. Thanks for doing this.
