Anyone who’s completed the month-long Slice of Life Story Challenge knows the greatest prize comes in the form of a writing community. I recently reflected on the way this writing community has helped me grow as an educator, parent, and writer. I hope you’ll take a moment to read what I wrote, which is over at the Kindness Project Blog. It’s just one small way for me to say “thank you” for all you’ve done for me.

It’s late, but still Tuesday where I live. Here are reflections from a recent whirlwind trip:

Knew I had to slice today…this poem is inspired by district work on the Common Core and the “well-timed” network failure during class today.

It is amazing how stereotypes still influence us. It even effects how we choose and select reading material. I have been richly blessed by being a part of this writing community. Your encouragement has helped venture out beyond my comfort zone. Thank you. http://windows2mylife.blogspot.com/2013/02/what-exactly-is-graphic-novel.html
